Although our vision of partnering with our patients and communities to make it easier to be healthy is large, how we achieve it can come from many small steps and changes in our practices to deliver the highest possible quality of care. How, when, and where we provide care and services are all important aspects we consider to “get it right.”
When we do make changes, you need to know about them, so we plan to periodically summarize some changes big and small that we’ve made around our practices. Below are a few changes to note that have occurred so far in 2014.
Harvard Vanguard Orthopedic Surgeons at New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center in Dedham
For orthopedic surgery, we are fortunate in Boston to have New England Baptist Hospital, which has been nationally ranked as one of the top hospitals in the country. Now the same great care found in Boston is closer to home. Harvard Vanguard is pleased to let you know that our orthopedics and sports medicine physicians, along with physicians from Atrius Health affiliate Dedham Medical Associates, are now performing surgeries at the New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center in Dedham.

New MyHealth Look & Feel
On January 27th, Harvard Vanguard revealed a new look and feel for MyHealth, as well as some new features. You’re still able to send non-urgent medical advice messages to your doctor’s office, access your test results, request prescription renewals and more, but the easier-to-navigate design will have some new great features including new search and sort feature for your MyHealth messages and for your test results, as well as easier access to your family’s medical records. Chestnut Hill/West Roxbury Expanded Pharmacy Hours
Our Chestnut Hill/West Roxbury practice announced that its on-site pharmacy is open every Saturday from 9:00am until 2:00pm. If it’s more convenient, patients can now pick up prescriptions as well as common, over-the-counter medications on Saturdays in addition to our weekday hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00am until 7:00pm.
Please note: Pharmacy is the only service open on Saturday – all clinical departments and lab and imaging services continue to operate on their current Monday-Friday schedules.
Expanded Weekend Lab Hours at Peabody/Lynnfield and at Kenmore
Our Peabody/Lynnfield practice announced on April 5th that its on-site laboratory is now open an hour earlier than its previous schedule for Saturday, Sunday, and holiday urgent care days. The lab’s new hours are 9:00am until 2:00pm on weekends and holidays, the same hours of operations as the one-site pharmacy at the practice. As a reminder, the lab at Peabody/Lynnfield is also open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am until 7:00pm, and Fridays from 8:00am until 6:00pm.
The Lab at the Kenmore practice now opens on Saturdays at 8:00am (instead of at 10:00am) and remains open until 5:00pm. The lab’s hours for Sunday are 12:00pm until 5:00pm and the hours are 8:00am until 8:00pm, Monday through Friday.
